Cubana Chief Priest Claims ‘Demonic Pressure’ Behind Davido’s Grammy Loss

Popular socialite Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, has sparked reactions online after suggesting that Davido’s loss at the 2026 Grammy Awards was influenced by hidden pressures from powerful figures in the Western music industry.

Reacting to Davido’s failure to win the Best African Music Performance category at the ceremony held on Sunday, Cubana Chief Priest alleged that the outcome was not ordinary but part of an attempt to weaken the singer and make him compromise his personal values.

South African star Tyla won the award despite Davido being considered one of the strong contenders in the category.

In a post shared on social media, Cubana Chief Priest claimed that Davido’s influence and strength in the global music scene had made him a target. He urged the singer not to bow to any form of pressure or abandon his principles.

He encouraged Davido to remain focused, continue creating music for his fans, and not allow the setback to affect his career trajectory.

According to him, award losses are temporary and should not define an artist’s success, stressing that Davido’s talent and consistency would keep him relevant on the global stage.

In his words:
“Oyibo dey do everything possible to break a strong man so he can do their demonic sh*t with them but he will never do it. Heads up brother, open the bag and drop another hot one for us. E no dey finish, gbedu na water.”

As of the time of reporting, Davido has not publicly responded to the statement. However, many fans believe the Grammy setback could further motivate the Afrobeats star to push harder in his music career.
