The Spiritual Leader of Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele, has issued a strong prophetic warning concerning the political involvement of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja.
Speaking with journalists at his church headquarters in Oke-Afa, Ejigbo, Lagos State, the Man of God cautioned the monarch against delving into partisan politics, stating that such involvement could lead to political embarrassment and public ridicule. His warning also extended to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he warned of an impending crisis allegedly linked to the monarch’s political influence.
Primate Ayodele emphasized that traditional rulers are custodians of culture and unity and should be cautious about engaging directly in political affairs. According to him, the Olubadan’s alleged political maneuverings could trigger confusion within the APC in Oyo State.
“There is going to be a big confusion in APC because Ladoja would dominate APC and also bring in his own candidate, and he would cajole the president,” the cleric stated.
The prophecy warns of internal disagreements and power struggles may emerge within the party if political interests connected to the monarch become prominent. Primate Ayodele warned that any attempt by the king to influence party structures or candidate selection could create division and unrest.
Beyond his message to the monarch, the cleric also cautioned the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to exercise vigilance in his dealings with the Olubadan.
Primate Ayodele warned that any political understanding or agreement between the President and Oba Ladoja may not yield the expected results and could instead create setbacks within the ruling party.
“If the President follows Ladoja, the advice will not work. The advice will not work. So the President should watch out on this very well. That is why the Oba can be ridiculed politically,” he said.
According to the prophet, political calculations based on such alliances may fail, leading to embarrassment for those involved and potential instability within party ranks.
