The Executive Chairman of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Idris Balogun, has sponsored Hajj and Jerusalem pilgrimages for several beneficiaries during the grand finale of the 21 Days of Appreciation and birthday celebration of Elijah Ayodele, founder and spiritual leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church.
The event, held on February 14, marked both Primate Ayodele’s birthday and the conclusion of the church’s annual 21-day thanksgiving programme. It attracted dignitaries from various sectors, including political leaders, traditional rulers, religious clerics, media professionals, and members of the wider community.
The celebration was highlighted by extensive empowerment initiatives led by Primate Ayodele. Beneficiaries received support through payment of house rents, shop rental fees, educational sponsorships, and financial assistance for widows. These gestures, according to the cleric, are part of the church’s commitment to uplifting the less privileged and promoting practical acts of compassion.
Hon. Balogun officiated the presentation of car gifts donated by Primate Ayodele to selected journalists and church members, describing the cleric as a man deeply committed to humanitarian service and community development.
As part of his own contribution to the celebration, Hon. Balogun sponsored Hajj and Jerusalem pilgrimages for over five individuals, demonstrating support for both Muslim and Christian faithful within the community.
In addition, the council chairman presented a car gift to the Chief Imam of the newly built mosque constructed and donated by Primate Ayodele to the Muslim community. The gesture further underscored the spirit of religious harmony and unity that characterised the event.
Hon. Balogun expressed gratitude to God for the transformation witnessed in his leadership journey and pledged to continue implementing initiatives that would positively impact residents of Egbe-Idimu and its environs.
In recognition of his contributions to community development, Primate Ayodele honoured Hon. Balogun with two awards during the ceremony. The cleric explained that the awards were presented as a token of appreciation for the chairman’s enormous efforts in advancing development within the community.
Primate Ayodele encouraged him to remain steadfast in service, assuring him of continued divine backing in his leadership responsibilities.
The event blended spirituality, philanthropy, and governance, reinforcing collaboration between religious and political leaders as a pathway to sustainable community growth and interfaith harmony.
