Police Arrest Three in Kano for Buying Mercedes Benz GLE with ₦75m Fake Bank Alert


The Kano State Police Command has arrested three suspects for allegedly purchasing a Mercedes Benz GLE worth ₦75 million using a fraudulent bank alert.

The suspects, identified as Tijjani, Auwal, and Nura, were apprehended on January 8 at Kabuga Quarters in Kano.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa.

According to Kiyawa, the suspects reportedly acquired the luxury vehicle from a seller in Gwarinpa, Abuja, after a fake payment alert was sent by an accomplice identified as Yahaya, who is currently at large.

Following the arrest, the vehicle was recovered by the police and subsequently handed over to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command for further investigation.

The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, praised the operatives for their professionalism and swift action in tracking down the suspects and recovering the vehicle.

He also called on members of the public to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency to aid crime prevention efforts.
