The Leader of the Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a prophetic warning concerning the Director-General of the Nigeria Customs Service and the Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, stating that both officials risk removal from office if urgent caution is not taken.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele revealed that the Comptroller-General of Customs, Dr. Bashir Adewale, and the Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Sylvester Ndidi, must remain vigilant as their positions may come under threat before the end of the current administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to the cleric, spiritual insight indicates that plans for leadership changes involving the two security chiefs may already be underway. He warned that without prayers and careful handling of administrative responsibilities, circumstances capable of leading to their removal could arise.
“The Customs DG, Bashir Adewale, and the Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service need to be very watchful against removal from office. I see their names already pencilled down for replacement, except they seek the face of God,” he stated.
Primate Ayodele further advised the affected officials to pray against what he described as unfavourable records or developments that could justify their dismissal. He stressed that failure to take proactive steps may result in their exit from office before the expiration of President Tinubu’s tenure.
The warning comes shortly after the cleric reportedly foretold leadership changes within Nigeria’s security architecture, including the removal of former Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, shortly before the official announcement of his replacement.
Speaking further on the nation’s political future, Primate Ayodele disclosed that several serving ministers may not retain their positions should President Tinubu secure a second term in office. He explained that a potential second-term administration could witness significant cabinet reshuffling aimed at repositioning governance and strengthening performance across ministries.
The cleric also commented on the emergence of Tunji Disu as the new Inspector-General of Police, describing him as a capable officer with commendable plans for policing and national security. However, he cautioned that the new police chief would face intense opposition and institutional challenges, particularly as Nigeria approaches another electoral cycle.
According to Primate Ayodele, internal resistance and political pressures may test the leadership of the new IGP, urging him to remain cautious and alert to possible plots against his office.
“The new IGP has good plans, but he will be seriously challenged and fought, especially regarding election matters. He needs to be careful and watch his back because not everyone is happy with his emergence,” the cleric warned.
