Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appointed Temitope George as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC), in a move designed to deepen regulatory oversight and accelerate reforms in the state’s power sector.
The appointment was disclosed in a circular issued on Tuesday by the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, who noted that George’s nomination is subject to confirmation by the Lagos State House of Assembly. Her appointment will take effect upon receiving legislative approval.
The development marks another step in Lagos State’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional structures within the electricity industry following recent market and regulatory reforms.
George is currently the Lead Partner for Energy, Infrastructure and Policy at Adegbola-George & Co and brings over two decades of experience in legal practice, regulation and public sector governance. She has advised governments, multinational firms and development partners on energy, infrastructure, construction and public–private partnership initiatives.
Her professional background includes involvement in major infrastructure project structuring, regulatory negotiations, complex commercial transactions and compliance with local and international governance frameworks.
Industry stakeholders say her expertise is expected to play a key role in shaping electricity regulation in Lagos, as the state seeks to improve operational efficiency, protect consumers and attract investment while expanding access to reliable power.
