ADC Denies Rumours of David Mark’s Resignation, Affirms Leadership Stability

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has firmly dismissed circulating reports claiming that its Interim National Chairman, David Mark, has resigned from his position.

In an official statement released by the chairman’s media office, the party described the reports as false, misleading, and deliberately fabricated. It condemned the claims as the handiwork of “puerile, weak, and inconsiderate propagandists” attempting to create unnecessary confusion within the party.

The ADC emphasized that Mark remains the substantive National Chairman, adding that there has been no discussion or plan regarding his resignation.

According to the statement, “The claim that Senator David Mark has stepped down exists only in the imagination of individuals bent on spreading falsehood and destabilizing the party.”

Reaffirming its unity, the party stated that its leadership remains strong and focused on promoting democratic values while providing credible alternatives to Nigerians.

The ADC also warned against attempts to destabilize its structure, suggesting that such actions stem from concerns about the party’s growing influence ahead of the 2027 Nigerian general elections.

It further stressed its commitment to protecting Nigeria’s multi-party democracy, rejecting any efforts to impose a one-party system.

The party urged Nigerians to disregard the rumours and remain confident in its stable and united leadership.
