Chairman and founder of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has announced major financial incentives for Nigeria’s Super Eagles following their impressive 2–0 victory over Algeria in the AFCON 2025 quarter-final.
In a statement shared on Saturday via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Rabiu congratulated the team for their outstanding performance and unveiled performance-based cash rewards ahead of the remaining matches in the tournament.
“Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria! You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals,” Rabiu wrote.
According to the BUA boss, the players will receive $500,000 if they win the semi-final, alongside an additional $50,000 for every goal scored in that match.
He further pledged a bigger reward should the team go all the way:
“Should you go on to win the final, I further pledge $1,000,000, plus $100,000 for each goal scored in the final.”
Rabiu urged the Super Eagles to remain focused and continue making the nation proud, signing off with the words, “Proudly Nigerian.”
Nigeria booked their semi-final spot after goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams sealed a convincing win over Algeria at the Stade de Marrakech on Saturday.
The Super Eagles will now face tournament hosts Morocco in a highly anticipated semi-final clash on Wednesday, January 14, at 9pm, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
The victory extended Nigeria’s perfect record at AFCON 2025 to five wins from five matches, with the team scoring 14 goals making them the first team in AFCON history to win their opening five matches in a single edition.
Nigeria, three-time AFCON champions (1980, 1994, 2013), are now chasing a record-extending fourth title, with growing confidence among fans that the Super Eagles have the quality and momentum to lift the trophy once again.
