‘Empty Barrels Make the Loudest Noise’ — Otti Fires Back at Kalu, Orji, Ikpeazu Alliance

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has dismissed recent criticisms and political moves by opposition leaders in the state, urging residents to ignore what he described as unnecessary political noise.

Speaking on Saturday at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Umuoriehi, in Umuahia North Local Government Area, during the dedication of a new church building, Governor Otti said the individuals aligning against his administration are the same leaders who failed to deliver meaningful development to Abia in the past.

The governor was responding to a reported political alliance involving former Abia governors Orji Uzor Kalu, Theodore Orji, and Okezie Ikpeazu, who are said to be working together to oppose his re-election bid.

Otti accused the opposition figures of prioritizing personal and political interests over the collective progress of Abia State, insisting that their efforts would ultimately fail.

Referring to recent public statements and criticisms, the governor said Abians should not be distracted.

“There has been some noise in the last few days, but I want us to dismiss it as mere noise. It is always the empty barrel that makes the loudest noise,” Otti said.

He described the opposition as a tiny minority, adding that his mandate and leadership are divinely guided.

“God does not make mistakes, and He does not have an unfinished project. Nobody should worry or lose sleep over it,” the governor added.

Governor Otti reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to changing the development narrative in Abia State, assuring residents that his government remains focused on delivering good governance and sustainable progress.
